  1. You could also use clear/nylon thread or fishing thread if more transparency needed. But I used similar to you (brown thread) when I needed to make smaller (better fit) one of my old units and worked well.
  2. How long are your units? How come you switched from lace to skin? What products you use for care (shampoo, conditioner, leave in)? Do you have Indian hair and have you ever tried any other type? Thanks!
  3. How about stiching it back? You can use fishing thread
  4. Yes, you are right, these are the ingredients: Aqua (Water), Hydrogen Peroxide, Ananas Sativus Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum Fruit Extract, Polysorbate 20, Fragrance, Silicone Quaternium-8, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Vitamin C, Chamomilla Recutita Extract, Phosphoric Acid, Disodium Phosphate, Glycerin. Just wondered if that would be less aggressive for hair system or bio hair when there is a need to deal with any sort of lightening.
  5. Hi all, has anybody ever lightened the hairpiece or their own hair with something like this? https://suntouched.co/products/suntouched-hair-lightener-for-dark-hair Just looks like easy to use to get subtle change. For those that are scared to lift the color or dye it.
  6. Hi Happy to see another female here and your feedback. May I ask what are your parameters? I had my first custom order and not sure if I just got a bad luck but hair is dry from the start (I am now 2 months wearing it and cannot wear it down). Would love to hear your thoughts especially since you wear total which I will also need very soon. Thanks!
  7. Hi Dago, just reading this older post - is this hair you wear here naturally straight or you straightened it? Seems beautifully healthy!

    Silk Top

hi @Liulaiwondering if you are still wearing these type of silk top lace units? I used to wear similar ones and truly loved the skin effect.
  9. Thank you for the feedback. Looking forward to hear how you like the film unit and how it compares to lace.
  10. Thank you for the feedback. Have you ever tried silk top insert with lace units? These are usually quite popular with longer hair units
  11. Hi all I have come back to give my review on my first custom unit from here. Note: I am wearing since 2013 so I am not a newbie. Have tried many different vendors and hair units in past My specs were: - base required in full lace - thick as suggested - standard prostheses: size 20x25 cm - hair length 45 cm - Indian hair - no white / gray hair - high density : 115 density front and 125 rest - hair color : will provide the locks (will then have two locks color mixed in 70:30 ratio (lighter 70% :darker 30%) - lace color - standard - yellow - straight hair (4.5) - bleached knots in front and middle part - freestyle ventilation Sent in my cast as well Now the review after wearing it since May 4th : When the unit first arrived it was bone straight. Right after the first wash it was clear the unit is naturally wavy (Medusa did advise to make a note in next order for really straight hair). Color was made well but am experiencing lightening at this point (had this issue with other units that have mid brown color in it) so next time will probably go with color 2 or so. Found few weird black hairs (I tend to find them with other vendors, too. Really hope that is not used as a filler hair). Density was a bit too much at least on the very perimeter. Had to work with tweezers to thin these areas. Hair length was really good and full to ends. Fit of the cap is also good. Lace is great and knots are good, too. This is very important and happy to see NHS has this nailed. I kind of expected this based on many stories here. Hair seems to be at the normal rate of shedding. Now the main trouble I am having: 1. The hair seems much drier than I was hoping for. Not sure if it is because it is wavy hair (but I used to have wavy units before) or the coloring job they did which dries it a bit. Ladies and men with longer hair - would you have any recommendation how to combat this? 2. If I wish for hair that dries straight and is more silky - would it make sense to order Chinese hair? Hope this helps other women trying to nail specs as it helped me seeing yours, too. I am happy with this company just feel like I need to tweak few thing to make it right for me. Thank you for all your help in advance and special thanks to @medusa for all your help! (first picture is air dried unit, after thinning the sides around 10% and adding side bangs in front)
  12. I have also used fibers and Dermmatch but it has its limitations as mentioned above. Now with prosthesis you could still find good use - as to filling in thinner areas of your remaining hair or I have heard even filling in bald spots developed in the prosthesis.
  13. Would you happen to know what is their quality? Has anyone here tried and how they compare to custom? Price is really good for long hair and total. You know how much they end up being in custom order...
  14. Oh yes I know ? But I do like having a stock as well. And some of my friends too sometimes need a quick solution. Are they even available?
  15. Just got an email that my custom unit is on its way!!! Can't wait to update you here ? It went in with start of February order as cast did not make it on time for January. It was extra rush order.
  16. HI Medusa are stocks like this available? Would be a good option to have thanks
  17. With film units - do you get that FLAT hair on top or there is some lift to it? Also is hair ventilated forward to fall to your face? Thanks!
  18. Yes, I did that for my last order. But since this is my first order I cannot compare with prices pre Covid. I was just curious to find out how other longer wearers deal? Especially total units with long hair and high density. Wondering if unit is any cheaper if subscribed? Are women doomed to pay fortune for hair? ? Thanks
  19. Can I refresh this topic and ask how much were your expenses gone up compared to pre Covid? Especially for TOTAL units with long hair. Thank you!
  20. Thank you for a great detailed response. Just ordered this shampoo! You wear total? How come you do not order all lace if lasts longer? Have you have a preference of film to lace?
  21. Do you find film lasts you much less than lace? Has anyone tried with other cap styles? More durable ones such as monofilament with poly perimeter? Is it the hair or the base that you all find goes first when wearing long hair? thanks!
  22. Plus these (did not fit in first post)
  23. Anyone ever ordered or orders mix design caps? These are mix of poly/silk top/lace and/or mono. Especially this question goes to ladies or any long hair wearers. Long hair units cost much more so wondering if investing in more sturdy base + European hair would last longer and be more economical. Looking forward to conversation. Ps. Medusa asked the manufacturer and they said they do these types.
