Elidel has been linked to numerous reports of cancer in patients using it, and animal studies have found that Elidel increases the risk of cancer.
Elidel has been found to increase the risk cancer and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. There are 25 types of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which start in the lymph nodes. Symptoms include:
Swelling of lymph nodes
Fever
Night sweats
Unexplained weight loss
Lack of energy
Basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer, usually occurs in areas of the body not exposed to sunlight and may look like eczema or psoriasis. Immunodepressants have also been linked to vitiligo, a loss of skin pigmentations that leaves milky, white patches on the skin.
Other possible Elidel side effects are:
headaches
pharyngitis
fever
